What a great weekend - Irish teams deprived of players, Welsh teams scraping from feeder sides.... Oh, the systems working... and the score is four - nil.

Boot money seems to be doing in Abertillery - when will the minnows realise they are supposed to be putting the WRU funding into the game NOT the back pockets of an up and coming starlet or has been! If the side is drawn from local resources then there should be no need for pin money or the bribe to play.

The game of Rugby doesn't need to be run at a loss or by blinkered fools. the wider picture is that the smaller feed the bigger untill the pinnicle is the Welsh team - get it?

The players fight for their place on a team - they don't get the back-hander or the wink with a "lump of coal" in the boot. We want skill, tenacity the will to win and we need that competition to start NOW at every level.

Those that crave boot money or seek to get boot money should be told to knuckle down and prove themselves to others and expect only the highest level to get paid.

It is the act of competition that will bring "The best" to the fore - you compete well you gain experience and notoriety. this is what has to be strived for.

I want to see the best and those that achieve this to be in a RED shirt!
